Helps communities in rural Nicaragua to build their own gravity-flow clean drinking water systems and sanitation. We develop sustainable local health education programs in the communities and also run a technical school which is providing the next generation of water technicians to Nicaragua.
All APLV projects follow a community-driven process. The community requests the project, organizes itself to build, and does the manual labor of the building, resulting in a project which can maintain itself indefinitely. APLV provides technical leadership, community organization support, and materials.
