A multi-racial membership organization of low-income tenants and workers, working class women and people of color who come together to take control over the conditions in our workplaces and in our communities. POWER has waged and won campaigns for home-owner rights, improved public housing conditions, environmental justice, workplace safety, language rights, and a city-wide minimum wage increase. Currently POWER has two organizing projects- the Bayview Justice Organizing Project which is fighting for positive neighborhood development and against displacement in San Francisco’s largest African American neighborhood; and the Women Workers Project which is organizing immigrant Latina workers around immigration issues and domestic worker rights.
