An applied policy research center of the UC Berkeley School of Public Health that identifies, tracks, and analyzes policies to improve health care access for the state’s most vulnerable populations, including migrants, agricultural workers, the working poor, low-income women and children, prisoners, and the recently released. CPAC was established in August 1997 at the behest of the California State Legislature. CPAC’s directive, as set by the UC Office of the President, is to serve as a critical linkage between the expertise of the University of California faculty and policy makers to improve access to care for vulnerable Californians.
