*** THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. ***

The United Workers Federation of Honduras (CUTH) which represents 250,000 urban and rural workers in Honduras is also part of the National Front against the Coup D?etat.  The CUTH, along with two other major Labor confederations in Honduras are responsible for organizing several national strikes in Honduras which mobilized millions of workers to protest of the military coup which took place on June 28, 2009 and the illegitimate government which now rules the country.  The demands of the strikers, their community and student allies include; an unconditional reinstatement of President Manuel Zelaya, an end to government repression of the Honduran people, the restoration of all democratic rights and most importantly a Constituent Assembly that would democratically represent the vast majority of the population.

Labor has been a key player in the social movements engaged in popular resistance to the coup government of Roberto Michiletti.  Please take this opportunity to learn first hand about the struggle for democracy and workers rights in Honduras.
