How to Lower Your Carbon Footprint, at the EcoHouse

Come learn how to calculate your carbon footprint and take action to lower your climate impact by drawing inspiration from the EcoHouse. This workshop begins with an introduction to footprint calculators and then helps you prioritize areas for improving home energy and water use, food choices, transportation, consumer goods and services, and waste. The second part of the workshop presents inspiring do-it-yourself projects from the EcoHouse, including solar and flash hot water heating, solar PV, greywater and rainwater catchment, native and edible gardening, and lots more. We'll provide information about other useful community resources and tell you about the Climate Change Action Groups, which are a great way to join with others in the community to address climate change.  Please specify when registering if ASL interpretation is requested, (at least 10 working days in advance). Must register by 11/6/09.

Time: 10am - 1pm
Cost: $15 general, $10 Ecology Center members, no one turned away for lack of funds.
Info: 510-548-2220 x239, register@ecologycenter.org.
